Specialists are always needed even when generalist’s services are prevalent. Hence, why Gideon was still needed though God had actually sent a prophet to the Israelites to tell them His issues with them.
I believe the prophet was a Generalist and Gideon was the Specialist. You must make up your mind to become a specialist in order to fully embrace what God has for you. Just like Gideon, your leadership is needed.
